Early life. Hillis Miller was born in Newport News, is the son of J. Hillis Miller Sr., a Baptist minister, university professor and administrator who served as the president of the University of graduated from Oberlin College (B.A. summa cum laude, ) and Harvard University (M.A. , Ph.D. ). Miller is married and has three mater: Harvard University. This anthology exhibits the diversity, inventiveness, and intellectual energy of the writings of J.
